Quality Management Foundations is the work of building the chart — and the practice — so they never have to be defended. It’s documentation integrity, clinical risk assessment, and patient safety, strengthened from inside the health system rather than imposed from outside it.
Why this path fits the bedside nurse
You already do this work in miniature every shift: catching the near-miss, noticing the gap, protecting the patient from the system’s rough edges. Quality management is that same instinct, given a language, a structure, and a seat at the table where decisions get made.
Where it leads
This is the direction with the largest market of employed roles in healthcare. Hospitals and health systems hire for quality, risk, compliance, and documentation-integrity positions — stable, in-house roles for nurses who want to shape the system from within rather than leave it.
